Living Healthy For A Happy Life

I was only 19-years old when I was diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer. The news had horrified my parents and stunned my friends because I was so young. But it was I who received the biggest blow of all.

I had always been very care-free especially when it came to my eating habits. I wasn’t overweight, but I was chubby, and loved eating junk food and fast food. I smoked and I also had been drinking a lot in the past two years. I never exercised, nor did I sleep for a good 8-hour every night. Despite it all, me getting cancer at the age of 19 was perplexing.

My doctors gave me hope when they said the cancer could be removed, but I needed intensive care following the operation. When my operation was done successfully and I had recovered in a few weeks, I decided to keep myself healthy for a better well-being.

I began exercising daily and I would take a morning walk every day with my mother. I ate healthy, and quit smoking with the help of nicotine patches. I then began cutting back on my habit of late-night sleeping too. I slept for 8-10 hours every day!

When you almost hit the end of your life, you realize the real value of it. You begin caring about yourself and your health to live each day better. This is what I went through, and I transformed into a person who loved life and took their health in their own hands. I reached optimal health and wellness by giving myself a few minutes a day. Life is beautiful, and I want to live it for as long as I can with no worries of illness and diseases. I am at bliss now because I am healthy and strong!

Turning things around. NEW
by: David Wilson-Holmes

I understand your anguish so well in respect to being diagnosed with cervical cancer. Mainly because this eventually caused the death of my mother who died back in 1971. She was only 47 at the time. I have personally been witness to close family and friends to this incideous decease in my time.

After saying such it is indeed inspiring to hear the testimonials of survivors whose strong will says no to what can initially seem like a life sentence, and as such find it a testimonial to the human spirit. I wish you all the best on life's continuing journey.
